Senior Division of Little League Baseball is for boys and girls league age 13-15 years old. It is considered more challenging than younger Little League divisions due to advanced rules, including the ability to lead-off and steal as the pitcher breaks, and played on a conventional 90-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 60 feet, 6 inches.

Senior Division is a competitive program balanced with attention to skills development. We run skills clinics in addition to games every week of the season. The fall season places more of an emphasis on skills development though we do play official games with patched umpires. The spring season keeps standings and has playoffs to decide a champion. The commissioner assembles teams based on player evaluations from coaches they played for the previous season. Teams usually play two games per week, typically, on Sunday and Wednesday afternoon.

For Senior Division, all bats not made of a single piece of wood shall meet the Batted Ball Coefficient of Restitution (BBCOR) performance standard. For Little League age 13 years old we will allow lighter bats during their first fall season as they acclimate to the larger diamond.

Newton Little League (ages 4-12) serves players who reside within or attend private or public schools within the boundaries of Ward, Underwood, Lincoln Eliot, Horace Mann, Peirce, Cabot, Burr, Franklin, Williams and Day or Bigelow Middle Schools.

Children who attend one of these schools but live out of the district may participate in NLL's program under Little League's rules without a waiver.

For all 2025 programs, the child's age is based on their age on 08/31/2025.

Games are typically played two to three times per week, Sunday through Saturday. Weekend games will be played mostly on Sundays for all levels unless Saturdays are requested by certain teams. Makeup games may occur on any day. Practices are held at the coaches' discretion. Summer games are played during the week only.

SCHOLARSHIPS: Newton Little League maintains a Scholarship Fund to aid families facing economic hardship. It is the policy of NLL that no child should be denied the opportunity to play baseball due to a family's financial situation. The application process is a simple one; all that needs to be done is to send a request to our Treasurer/Player Agent at [email protected]. This letter is only reviewed by our Treasurer/Player Agent and does not require financial documentation. Newton Little League is sensitive to both family needs and privacy.
